The terminal marked "+" is for positive volts. The terminal marked "-" is for ground. These must be attached for the indication to tape battery usage. With only these 2 terminals attached, there will be no screen showing. This is done to conserve battery power, however the meter is keeping an eye on the batteries
When you want to see the screen, connect the terminal marked "C" to a positive volt source (+ and - terminals must still be connected).
"C" can be difficult wired to have the screen revealing all the time or can be made use of through a brief contact switch to see the battery status by dispiriting the brief contact switch. Another method for setup would be to connect "C" to an incurable originating from a switch key that goes hot when the key is switched on. Remember that + and - must constantly be connected.
