The PowerDrive V2 trolling motor from Minn Kota marks an evolutionary leap forward for the company. The initial PowerDrive was one of the company's most popular trolling motors ever, but the PowerDrive 2 takes things to the next level with such functions as an enhanced deploy mechanism, a new ergonomically developed foot pedal, and digital electronics. This PowerDrive V2 motor provides 50 pounds of thrust and a 48-inch shaft.
The PowerDrive V2 trolling motor runs smoothly and silently on the water.
The PowerDrive V2 is equipped with a deploy-assist lever that keeps the motor securely stowed throughout rough water runs and while trailering, but that also opens rapidly when you have to deploy the motor. As a result, you can drop in and pursue fish at a minute's notice. The side-to-side steering foot pedal, on the other hand, includes a momentary/constant on switch, a speed control knob for exact adjustments, and an 18-inch cord with water resistant connector plugs.
The PowerDrive V2 comes standard with Minn Kota's Digital Maximizer technology, which assists the battery add to five times longer on a single charge, in addition to an unbreakable composite shaft (guaranteed for life) and a push-to-test battery meter.
The motor provides extra-large windings and commutators that dissipate heat, leading to cooler operation, extended battery power, and a longer motor life. Minn Kota even included an unique bearing system with minimized friction to cut fish-spooking noise.
It's compatible with Minn Kota's optional AutoPilot device, which locks onto any heading you pick and provides you there. Just point the motor head in the direction you want to travel and let the AutoPilot take over. You can also upgrade the PowerDrive V2 with the optional i-Pilot wireless trolling system device, which makes use of GPS technology to control and guide your boat for you. At the push of a button, i-Pilot lets you remain on a fishing area, store and backtrack efficient trolling paths, or take full command of speed and steering.
